I started doing some research into Web Hosting Hub before signing up to them. The reviews were really mixed, which through me off a little as I wasn’t sure what to expect. Their TrustPilot reviews were bad, but there were only 21 of them.

The general feeling I got from their TrustPilot reviews was that it was pretty hard to cancel a subscription once you’ve signed up to them. It would also appear that if there’s any changes with their systems, backups are not reliable and they may even charge you to migrate services.

Web Hosting Hub’s Facebook page seems reasonably active. They make note of any issues or upcoming maintenance which is a useful resource.

Web Hosting Hub offer a lot of features. In fact, some are better than the top game players in the web hosting world. Web Hosting Hub list features that are included in EVERY hosting plan that they offer.

When you consider you’re only paying £3.86 per month for their basic plan, I’d say these features are very generous! You’ll get a free domain included with ALL of their shared hosting plans too as well as an SSL certificate. What a steal!

• Premium Website Builder: Hosting plans include a FREE premium website builder called BoldGrid. BoldGrid is a free drag-and-drop website builder which is extremely easy to use. There’s plenty of templates to choose from and your content will already be populated depending on the type of website you build.
• FREE Website Transfer: Web Hosting Hub offer FREE cPanel and website transfers with zero downtime to make sure your data gets moved quickly and safely. There’s a 5GB limit or 3 databases, but even if you exceed this, it’s only £7.90 per additional item.
• Data Centers: Their Nitro and Dynamo plans have a choice of data centers when you sign up. You can choose between East or West coast depending on where the majority of your customers are going to be coming from.
• cPanel: Web Hosting Hub use cPanel. This means you’ll have access to hundreds of free apps and 1-click installs like WordPress.

Web Hosting Hub have a wide variety of ways you can get in touch with them. When a U.K. customer like myself uses a U.S. based web hosting company, this area can be quite tricky. However, I found that Web Hosting Hub didn’t pose too much of an issue for me.

Their Help Center is full of useful knowledgebase articles, FAQs and customer support contact links. There are tutorials on how to setup email accounts, software, and updating your domain name servers.

It was refreshing to see Web Hosting Hub had a live chat option. At 11:50 AM (GMT) I initiated a live chat which was responded to within seconds! I asked about their actual data limits on their unlimited disk space and bandwidth claims.

The agent was quick to respond, friendly and helpful. I probed for more answers and the agent was happy to respond and provide enough information for me. Overall the experience was very pleasant and I was impressed with how quick it was.

Pros and Cons

My experience with Web Hosting Hub has been quite positive so far. I’m not saying their shared hosting is completely flawless, but it’s certainly an improvement on the customer reviews I discovered at first.

After testing their services for 6 months, I’ve put together a REAL pros and cons list that I hope you’ll find valuable. I’ve personally signed up to their shared hosting, spoken to their live chat assistants, and monitored my website’s performance.

Pros

SSDs: I personally experienced faster than average speeds with Web Hosting Hub. This could well be down to their SSDs which claim to be 20x faster than standard HDD.

Free Domain: When you sign up to Web Hosting Hub you’ll get a free domain with EVERY plan. This is extremely generous and a real bonus for customers who are only just beginning their web journey. You’ll get free site migrations too, so if you have content hosted elsewhere, it’s easy to transfer this across.

Ease of Use: I found Web Hosting Hub really easy to get along with. From their website builder to their sign up process, help center to live chat, nothing was a struggle.

Cons

Pricing Term: Whilst their attractive sign up price of £3.86 reels customers in, you’ll only get this if you sign up long-term. To get these low prices you’ll need to commit to a 3-year plan. Their minimum plan is 12 months, so there’s no monthly option.

Backup Fees: Backups are extremely useful. If you’re willing to pay an extra £0.79 per month, Web Hosting Hub will automate your daily backups for you. This is great, but comes at a small price, as do many of their features and extras.

The above prices reflect their 3-year plan terms. Although this is a longer commitment, unfortunately many web hosts do this. When you compare their pricing and features to other hosts, and even big competitors, it’s actually REALLY good.

They are generous with their offerings, including a free SSL, domain, email accounts and more. We’ve covered some of their main features already, but I wanted to give you some information to go by.

Do I Recommend Web Hosting Hub?

Although other people may not recommend Web Hosting Hub, based on my own experience YES I recommend them.

Their uptime was pretty solid over a 6 month period. Whilst it wasn’t the best I’ve experienced, it was reliable and met their SLAs. Their pricing is a little confusing as what’s advertised is based on a long commitment, however, the features that are on offer outweigh this for me.
