DreamHost is well-known for their DreamPress packages (which are WordPress optimised hosting plans), however, their shared plans are a good starting point. Although DreamHost offers live chat, it’s only available during U.S. hours, so this is a bit of a pain for U.K. customers.

In fact, FatCow was one of the first web hosts to offer just one hosting plan with all the benefits included. Although FatCow are a cheap web host initially, their renewal prices are pretty steep, rising to £8.95 per month, which kind of makes the plan not worth it. However, a great option for beginners who want a solid web host to begin with.

FatCow’s design is somewhat to be desired, however, it does make it easier to work with, offering a basic interface that would suit beginners.
