I’d personally never heard of FastComet before, but their services certainly intrigued me. They offer U.K. hosting data centers so this was already a positive mark in my books!

My initial investigations into FastComet were really impressive. They have a 5 star EXCELLENT rating on TrustPilot, with over 700 reviews.

Many of the reviews I read shared the same notion that FastComet offers AWESOME support. It’s really rare to come across these kind of comments when it comes to web hosting (in my experience).

Their social media pages like Twitter are very active. They respond to their customers tweets quickly which is always positive to see. So far, it was hard to see anything bad about the company. This meant I had to test it out for myself to see if I received the same experience!

FastComet Server Speed & Uptime

FastComet offer a 99.9% uptime guarantee. This is something I wanted to test, so I signed up to FastComet’s shared web hosting and monitored my website’s performance over a 6 month period.

I monitored my test website’s uptime and response time. Because I was able to choose a data center in the U.K., I was hopeful for better performance statistics than I’ve had with many other web hosts.

Over a 6 month period, I experienced 50 outages which totaled 6 hours. This averaged out at an uptime of 99.98% which is well above FastComet’s SLA of 99.9%. It’s also above the average uptime expected from a shared web host, so I was happy all round!

My site’s response time was 336 ms which is frankly AMAZING! I’m so pleased this web host has multiple data centers to ensure great speeds.

FastComet Features

FastComet have named their shared hosting “FastCloud”. They claim it’s the top-rated hosting solution offering performance boosting features. They offer 3 shared hosting plans which we’ll discover more about later.

For now, let’s take a look at the overall features that FastCloud servers offer:

On the face of it, FastComet plate up some VERY generous and enticing features. For example, CloudFlare CDN can mitigate DDoS attacks, whilst offering a load balanced global content delivery network (for free).

• Money-back Guarantee: FastComet will give you a 100% satisfaction (or money back) guarantee. This lasts for a 45 day period, so gives you plenty of time to speak up if their services aren’t working for you. Most hosts offer 30 days, so again this is another generous offering from FastComet.
• Fast & Free Transfer: If you want to move your web hosting and domain from another provider, FastComet offer an express service absolutely FREE. They claim there will be no downtime, alongside a fast and painless experience.
• Data Centers: FastComet boast 10 data centers to choose from when you sign up. This is so REFRESHING to see, it’s hard to put into words. Before signing up, they’ll suggest the best data center based on your location (for me, it’s London, U.K.).
• Backups: Website backups are incredibly important, and often overlooked when choosing a web host. FastComet offer FREE daily and weekly backups of your data. So, if you were to make a mistake or something went wrong, you could retrieve your data.

FastComet Customer Support

One of FastComet’s main features is that they offer 24/7 online support. This means they should be available anytime of the day. They make some bold claims, stating they resolve 83% of queries within 15 minutes.

There isn’t a support center like some hosts offer. If you click anywhere on their website attempting to find out more about support, it links you straight through to a live chat window. You can send a message or talk to someone almost immediately.

Strangely enough, at 09:00 AM (GMT) on a Saturday morning, FastComet’s live chat sought ME out! The agent messaged me to say he could see I was browsing some products and would I like any help.

The agent, Alex, was kind, friendly, and most of all knowledgeable! He was able to answer all of my questions in detail, offering a unique and personal experience.

FastComet Pros and Cons

When I first learned about FastComet, I was undoubtedly excited. It was a refreshing change to come across a web host with ALL positive reviews. My own experience so far has been great too, it’s hard to find many flaws with their services.

Like I have done with all my other reviews, I’ve signed up to FastComet. I’ve taken note of any issues I’ve encountered as well as the positive interactions I’ve had. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of FastComet.

Pros

Customer Support: This is a no-brainer for me. Their customer support was absolutely FAB. It’s only 24/7, it’s fast, friendly and they actually know what they’re talking about. Most of the time, they’ll come to you as well if their heatmap detects you lingering on a specific area of their website.

Features: Plans start at just £2.30 per month, but they ALL offer some pretty cool free features. Some of my favourites include daily/weekly backups, FREE CloudFlare CDN, free site transfer and SSD storage.

cPanel: FastComet use cPanel. This means that regardless of your pricing plan, you’ll get FREE 1-click installs for WordPress, unlimited FTP access and over 300+ free installations.

Cons

Disk Space: Compared to some other web hosts, FastComet have a limited amount of disk space on ALL of their pricing plans. Their top plan offers just 35GB disk space, which should be plenty, however, lots of other hosts offer unlimited hosting.

Bandwidth: Similar to disk space, FastComet’s bandwidth is limited to an average number of visitors per month. 25,000 on FastCloud, 50,000 on FastCloud Plus, and 100,000 on FastCloud Extra. Whilst this may not pose much threat to most customers, those with eCommerce sites or high traffic sites are a bit stuffed!

FastComet Pricing

I personally feel that FastComet’s pricing is VERY reasonable. Starting at just £2.30 per month, you’ll get a FREE SSL certificate, SSD storage, free CloudFlare CDN, 15GB storage and a 45-day money-back guarantee.

One of the downfalls I found with FastComet was there server speeds. Whilst I received a decent average response time when I was monitoring my site, there were some real dips in site speed and page speed.

Do I Recommend FastComet?

Absolutely! I do recommend FastComet because they’re simply awesome. I really enjoyed my web hosting experience with FastComet; I found their customer support to be flawless, their website to be simple to use and their pricing to be very clear.

I’d recommend FastComet to those with small to medium sized websites. Their storage space might not suit large website’s like eCommerce sites, but for bloggers and mid-range sites, I can’t fault them. It feels like FastComet have absolutely nailed their customer service, features, and overall pricing. However, they could do with upping their technology a little to keep up with the market.
