BEST RESELLER WEB HOSTING UK SERVICES COMPARED:

1. Hostinger: Best Overall Reseller Host (£8.99)

First on my list of reseller hosting services is Hostinger. I found it possible to use the Pro Panel feature to resell hosting and use website management tools that were reliable. The Pro Panel option offers several features and benefits.

It comes with a dashboard that makes client tracking easy. I was able to track clients from one location and also complete bulk actions for multiple websites. For instance, when I needed to update plugins, I could use the Bulk Actions feature, which eliminated the need to complete the actions individually.

I was pleased that innovative technology was available through Hostinger, such as the LSCWP cache and server resources, which contributed to secure reseller hosting outcomes and made it easier to manage websites.

The Pro Panel is easy to set up. I selected the Pro Panel once I had logged in and added a payment method. I could then view my clients’ websites and connect existing websites. It’s also possible to easily view the domain statuses and expiration dates. Once the expiration date for a domain was close, I was able to buy the renewal plan for them. I found Hostinger a low cost option for a reseller hosting service, which was ideal.

Pros:

• A range of excellent features such as 200GB NVMe Storage
• Up to 300 websites per account available
• Smooth user interface
• Single dashboard website management

Cons:

• Customer support via phone unavailable
• Fixed pricing structure for commission-based program

2. SiteGround: Best Overall Reseller Host (£4.99/Month)

SiteGround is my number two choice for many hosting services, and that’s true for reseller hosting too. Many reseller hosts offer just one plan, which can often be quite expensive, however, SiteGround has three reseller hosting plans to choose from.

Their GrowBig reseller plan is ideal for developers working on multiple websites, or for individuals who own a number of websites and require their hosting to be in one place. You’ll be able to host unlimited websites with 20GB storage, free SSLs, free CDN, free email, unlimited databases, etc.

If you plan to run a small hosting business, SiteGround’s GoGeek reseller plan doubles the storage space available up to 40GB and allows white-label reselling so your clients won’t know you’re hosting with SiteGround.

For those who want to go big, SiteGround’s Cloud reseller plan will offer you pretty much everything you need to run your own business. You’ll also be able to customise client’s access, offer priority support, and create custom hosting packages for each website you create.

Pros:

• Wide range of plans
• White-label clients options
• Customised client access
• Resell custom packages

Cons:

• Cloud plan is expensive in comparison to other hosts

3. HostGator: (£15.21/Month)

HostGator is an ideal host for reseller hosting if you plan to build lots of small sites as a developer or sell to clients who want to host small static sites. You can host unlimited domains on their Aluminium plan with 60GB storage and 600GB bandwidth.

Included in all of HostGator’s reseller plans are WHM, WHMCS, SSL certificates, the latest cPanel, and 99.9% uptime guarantee. If for any reason you don’t like your reseller plan with HostGator, you’re entitled to a generous 45-day money-back guarantee.

If like me, you’re conscious about the environment, HostGator offset carbon emissions by 130%, which is another selling point for you as a business. Other bonuses include access to a free reseller club account, allowing you to resell domains, transfer domains, and easy integrations with storefronts.

My only real gripe with HostGator is their backup policy which is pretty complicated; weekly backups for hosting accounts under 20GB, or if you want to backup on request, it will cost £19 a time. A bit of a nuisance if you ask me!

Pros:

• 99.9% uptime guarantee
• Three reseller hosting plan options
• Free WHM, WHMCS, and SSLs
• 45-day money-back guarantee

Cons:

• Backup policy is confusing

4. A2 Hosting: (£10.14/Month)

A2 Hosting provides affordable reseller hosting with top-notch customer support. However, it does lack in some areas like uptime and resources, compared to other hosts.

A2 Hosting’s Bronze plan offers 30GB storage, free SSLs, cPanel and WHM, and an anytime money-back guarantee. But if you want to sell web hosting to your clients, I’d only really recommend considering their Platinum plan which is £31.45 per month.

I’d recommend A2’s reseller hosting if you’re a web developer or designer looking to host multiple sites, as opposed to managing your own web hosting business. Why? Because they offer the least uptime and resources in comparison to other hosts, but do offer awesome support.

If you plan to set up your own hosting business, I’d recommend SiteGround as they allow much more customisation in comparison to A2 Hosting.

Pros:

• Cheap basic reseller plan
• Great customer support
• Anytime money-back guarantee

Cons:

• Uptime isn’t as great as other web hosts (99.96% in the last 7 days)

5. GoDaddy: (£6.34/Month)

GoDaddy is a well-known name in the domain and hosting world. Even on their basic reseller plan which costs just £6.34, you can enable white-label eCommerce storefronts, so if you’re selling to clients, they won’t know you’re hosting through GoDaddy.

One of GoDaddy’s main selling points is unmetered bandwidth. So if either you or your customers have high-traffic websites like eCommerce sites, they’re not going to get throttled and they won’t be penalised for using lots of bandwidth.

GoDaddy’s reseller plan’s overall uptime is around 99.97% which isn’t too bad, but they don’t offer live chat which is very frustrating if you need an issue sorted quickly.

Saying that, if you sign up to GoDaddy and you change your mind, they do offer a money-back guarantee, albeit a little complicated. For example, if you choose to pay month-to-month, you only have two days to claim your money back, as opposed to the advertised 30 days for longer-term customers.

Pros:

• Unmetered bandwidth
• White-label selling
• Well-known house name

Cons:

• Uptime could be improved
• Money-back guarantee is confusing

6. InMotion: (£11.73/Month)

In terms of value for money, InMotion absolutely hits the spot, however, they are expensive in comparison to other web hosts, and only offers 25 cPanel accounts on their R-1000S plan.

Having a limited amount of client accounts will obviously limit the number of clients you can have on your reseller plan. If you want up to 80 cPanel accounts, you’re going to have to pay £23.05 per month, which gets a little pricey.

Saying that, if you’re happy to spend a little more, InMotion’s reseller accounts all include WHMCS, cPanel and WHM, free domain reseller, data backups, white label selling, and a free domain.

In my opinion, InMotion offers a great reselling hosting program for those who want to start a small hosting business themselves, with room to grow. They offer a range of reseller hosting accounts, as well as VPS reseller hosting, which kicks things up a notch ready for when you expand.

Pros:

• Good value for money
• Lots of features
• Free domain
• 97-day money-back guarantee

Cons:

• Limited to the number of client accounts
